Marines invite commanders from Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines

[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Nam Bit-na-ra – The Marine Corps announced on the 21st that they invited the commanders of the Thai, Indonesian, and Philippine Marine Corps to the Marine Corps Command in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, to discuss security enhancements in the Indo-Pacific region and the development of future Marine landing operations.

Commander Joo Il-seok and the commanders of the three countries had a Q&A and informal discussion after a parade at the event.

In his welcoming speech, Commander Joo expressed his hope to maintain peace in the region through continuous multilateral cooperation amidst a diversifying security environment and to achieve mutual future Marine Corps strength development.

They shared their understanding of the necessity of expanding military diplomacy cooperation to enhance security in the Indo-Pacific region.

Additionally, they discussed ▲expanding participation in multinational joint exercises at home and abroad ▲the development direction of integrated manned and unmanned combat systems to implement future Marine Corps operational concepts ▲defense industry cooperation plans.
