Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo has reiterated his opposition to the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol.

After concluding a government safety inspection meeting this morning (21st), Minister Kim met with reporters and stated, “It is desirable for the president to return and for state affairs to stabilize and normalize quickly.”

Minister Kim also directed criticism towards the Constitutional Court, which is currently reviewing the presidential impeachment trial.

Regarding the controversy over the fairness of the Constitutional Court, he claimed, “For them to dismiss a president elected through a democratic process by 50 million citizens based on their convenience is ignoring national sovereignty.”

Minister Kim also expressed regret over the failure of the ruling and opposition parties to agree on the Semiconductor Special Act legislation, which includes exceptions to the 52-hour workweek.

He pointed out that “semiconductors are our country’s main industry,” suggesting that the 52-hour limit should be expanded.

He added, “Those who propose making changes while claiming to protect health rights are not qualified to speak about the development of our country’s key industries.”
