Photo = Yonhap News, “Kang Hoon-sik, the Presidential Chief of Staff visiting Europe for defense industry cooperation, held talks with Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense,” it was announced on the 20th (local time).
As the ‘Presidential Special Envoy for Strategic Economic Cooperation’, Kang visited Poland and wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that he “held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Kamysz to discuss defense and economic cooperation between the two countries.” He added, “I conveyed the fact that President Lee Jae-myung of South Korea places high importance on Korea-Poland relations and hopes to elevate our strategic partnership to a higher level during his term.”
Deputy Prime Minister Kamysz also stated on X that “the main topics of discussion were defense industry cooperation, technology transfer, and equipment supply for the Polish military.”
Earlier, Kang departed on the 19th as President Lee Jae-myung’s envoy to visit European countries targeted for defense industry cooperation. Upon his departure, he stated, “I will make every effort to achieve the goal of becoming one of the ‘four major defense industry powers’ and aim to maximize order volume through this visit.”
