Jang Dong-hyuk stated, “We will proceed with the debate with Cho Kuk quickly… welcoming the participation of Jeong Cheong-rae.”

Jang Dong-hyeok, the leader of the People Power Party, has expressed his intention to proceed with discussions as soon as possible regarding the “Daejang-dong appeal withdrawal incident” proposed by former emergency response committee chairman Cho Kuk of the National Innovation Party.

Jang made these remarks to the press today (the 23rd) before attending a service at Shingwang Church in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do.

Regarding the fact that Jeong Cheong-rae, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, has yet to respond to the proposal to participate in the discussion, Jang said, “If Leader Jeong expresses his intention to participate before the discussion with former chairman Cho begins, he is welcome at any time.”

However, he added, “Leader Jeong’s participation is not a prerequisite for the discussion with former chairman Cho.”

In response to Leader Jeong’s criticism yesterday (the 22nd) of Jang’s national tour speeches by saying he is “determined to part with the people,” Jang retorted, “Deciding to part with the people and engaging in politics that sacrifices everything for the sake of Lee Jae-myung is the Democratic Party and the Lee Jae-myung administration.”

Previously, former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon had proposed a discussion with former Chairman Cho, but Cho declined on the 21st, saying, “Wouldn’t it be better for former Leader Han to organize his own party affairs first?”

Instead, former Chairman Cho mentioned, “If Leader Jang formally wants to proceed, I’m willing to engage at any time.”
