In a live broadcast, Na Kyung-won questioned, “Is the anchor Jeong Sung-ho, the spokesperson? Why are you forcing a rebuttal?”

On October 16, Na Kyung-won, a member of the People Power Party, is seen requesting the right to speak during a session held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul. The session was a government audit on the Board of Audit and Inspection by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee. (2025.10.16 / News1 © News1 Lee Seung-bae).

(Seoul=News1) Senior Reporter Park Tae-hoon = Na Kyung-won demanded the resignation of five key figures, including Justice Minister Jeong Seong-ho, Deputy Minister of Justice, and the Acting Prosecutor General, regarding the controversy over the decision not to appeal in the Daejang-dong case. She argued that it amounts to undue external pressure exerted by Minister Jeong.

In an interview on YTN Radio’s ‘Kim Young-soo’s The Interview’ on the 11th, Na criticized Justice Minister Jeong Seong-ho’s statements, such as “there is no problem with the prosecution’s decision not to appeal,” “it was a successful trial and investigation,” and “I only advised caution, not instructions (to the prosecution),” calling them “sophistry at its best.”

Continuing, she mentioned, “Previously, President Lee Jae-myung said about Minister Jeong, ‘He is someone who will stay with me to the end, someone who won’t betray,'” indicating that Jeong’s actions were merely a desperate effort to protect the President, thus admitting to external pressure.

She explained the background of her view on undue pressure, citing that the process of seeking the Ministry of Justice’s opinion after the unanimous decision by prosecutors to appeal—where the advice was to “exercise caution”—implied a denial of permission to appeal. She also noted that Acting Prosecutor General Noh Man-seok mentioned “considering opinions from Yongsan and the Ministry of Justice,” which she attributed to external pressure.

The host then commented that Minister Jeong criticized the prosecution’s investigation by saying “the prosecutor threatened attorney Nam Wook,” to which Na responded with discomfort, suggesting that the host’s questions seemed as if he were a spokesperson for Minister Jeong, asking, “Why are you repeating, ‘What did Minister Jeong say,’ and ‘Rebut this.’?”

Na concluded by stating, “This incident has led to a situation where the prosecution’s right to appeal is not guaranteed, resulting only in exonerating President Lee Jae-myung. It was the most humiliating day for the prosecution, representing the largest political collusion scandal in the prosecution’s history. Therefore, Minister Jeong Seong-ho, Acting Prosecutor General Noh Man-seok, Deputy Minister of Justice Lee Jin-su, Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office Chief Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woo, and Director of the Anti-Corruption Department at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office Park Cheol-woo should all resign.”
