Handong-hoon “Additional support of 15,000 won for electricity bills for 1.3 million vulnerable households”

Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, announced that they will provide an additional support of 15,000 won in electricity bills to 1.3 million households in energy vulnerable groups.

During the party’s meeting today (8th), Han stated, “The record-breaking heat wave continues, and many vulnerable groups are suffering even more.” He added, “The monthly average electricity bill for a family of four is around 75,000 won. Vulnerable groups currently receive support of about 60,000 won through electricity bill discounts and energy vouchers. By providing this amount of 15,000 won, it is practically supporting almost zero electricity bills during the extreme cold weather.”

Han explained, “Although we were concerned about the Korea Electric Power Corporation’s financial losses, this support is carried out by utilizing the remaining budget for energy vouchers that was previously allocated, so there is no risk of exacerbating the KEPCO’s deficit.”

He emphasized, “Considering that the heat wave is practically at a disaster level and the increase in fatal accidents, we will start at a level that can be implemented immediately.” He also emphasized, “Responding promptly to the public’s suffering while adhering to principles is the essence of governance, and the People Power Party will engage in such politics.”
