“Goyoungbae Cuten CEO, expresses intention to attend parliamentary interpellation session tomorrow.”

The founder of Qoo10 Group, Gu Young-bae, who is embroiled in the controversy over delayed settlement and refunds by TMON and Wemakeprice, has confirmed his intention to attend the parliamentary National Defense Committee inquiry session tomorrow. A National Assembly official from the ruling party, the People Power Party, stated in a phone call with KBS, “Gu and the CEOs of TMON, Ryu Kwang-jin, and Wemakeprice, Ryu Hwa-hyun, have indicated their willingness to attend the National Assembly tomorrow.”

This is the first time Gu Young-bae has officially shown up in the public eye since the settlement delay issue surfaced. Despite customers affected by the incident occupying a building since the 24th, Gu has yet to make an appearance. However, according to the National Defense Committee official, it remains to be seen if Gu will actually attend until the meeting begins at 2 p.m.

As the current issue is urgently scheduled and did not go through a separate resolution process for summoning witnesses, if Gu ultimately decides not to come to the National Assembly, there is no effective way to force him to attend.

Gu announced through a press release distributed to reporters today that he is willing to take responsibility for the TMON and Wemakeprice incidents by offering up Qoo10 shares and other assets he possesses.
