The People’s Power Special Committee on Wildfire Disaster Response Emergency Meeting

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Jeong-jin = The government and the People’s Power party will hold a party-government council meeting at the National Assembly on the 3rd to devise countermeasures for wildfire damage.
The party and government plan to assess the extent of the large-scale wildfire damage that recently occurred in the Yeongnam region and discuss forming an additional budget for recovery support.
The council meeting was initially scheduled to be held on the 4th, but it was moved up one day due to the scheduling of the impeachment verdict of President Yoon Suk-yeol on that day.
From the government, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Mi-rung, 2nd Vice Minister of Economy and Finance Kim Yun-sang, and Director General of Disaster and Safety Management at the Ministry of Interior and Safety Lee Han-kyung will attend. Vice ministers from related departments such as the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the head of the Korea Forest Service will also participate.
From the party, Emergency Response Committee Chairman Kwon Young-se, Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong, Policy Committee Chair Kim Sang-hoon, and Lee Man-hee, Chairman of the Special Committee on Wildfire Disaster Response, will attend.
Chairs of the affected regions, Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheol-woo, Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-su, and Ulsan Metropolitan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, are also expected to participate.
