Go Min-jung: “It feels like the carefully built tower that Lee Jae-myung created is crumbling down.”

Lee, on the remark about ‘some within the party colluding with prosecutors,’ calls it “the worst possible move”

[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Kim Ji-eun: On the 6th, Democratic Party member Ko Min-jung commented on the remark by Representative Lee Jae-myung, claiming that the approval of his arrest motion in the 21st National Assembly was ‘a scheme by some within the party and the prosecution.’ She stated, “It felt as if the careful structure he built himself was crumbling.”

Ko, a member of the non-Lee faction, appeared on MBC Radio’s ‘Kim Jong-bae’s Focus’ and criticized Lee’s statement, saying, “In Go, this would be considered the worst possible move.”

She added, “Representative Lee has made significant efforts in policy initiatives and party unity. I’m concerned this remark might overshadow these efforts.”

She continued, “Remaining silent on this statement would suggest agreement with the alleged collusion, but speaking more on it would amplify party division. Since Lee has addressed it, we are compelled to investigate the facts,” she criticized.

Ko Min-jung, who served as a Supreme Council member at the time of the arrest motion’s approval, stated, “This is the first I’ve heard of it,” and mentioned that there was no report or discussion on it in the Supreme Council meeting.

She further commented, “If such a backdoor deal were to exist, it wouldn’t be forgivable, no matter who was involved. Since Lee mentioned it as his conjecture, we’re in a situation where we don’t know what the truth is. As we investigate the facts, it will likely stir more controversy, pulling everything in like a black hole,” she repeatedly expressed concern.
