The People Power Party is holding a general assembly today to discuss the response strategy following the release of President Yoon Seok-yeol. Acting Chairman Kwon Young-se and Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong are expected to share details from their meeting with President Yoon two days ago, as well as discuss the possibility of holding sit-in protests.

The leadership of the People Power Party welcomed the cancellation of President Yoon Seok-yeol’s detention, calling it a “reasonable ruling.”

“Despite the whirlwind of sedition accusations, we express our respect for the Seoul Central District Court’s determination to uphold the rule of law without yielding to political pressure.”
A general assembly will be held this morning to gather opinions on the party’s response strategy, with the President’s impeachment ruling pending.
Within the People Power Party’s group chat, several members have reportedly suggested a strong response, including an overnight sit-in protest, saying a “final full-force effort” is needed.
However, there are also calls for caution regarding outdoor protests, taking into consideration the moderate voters.
Today’s assembly is also expected to include a briefing on the content of the meeting held on the evening of the 9th with Acting Chairman Kwon Young-se and Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong, who met President Yoon.
It has been confirmed that there were no other attendees at the approximately 30-minute meeting, during which President Yoon reportedly shared his experiences of detention and expressed gratitude to the party leadership.

Following his release, President Yoon held luncheons with key secretaries and aides over two days and also communicated with senior party members like Na Kyung-won and Choo Kyung-ho.
President Yoon is also known to have reached out to a famous figure who has been speaking at rallies opposing his impeachment.
