Former President Yoon Seok-yeol has refused an arrest attempt by the special prosecutor, leading to sharp criticism from Choo Mi-ae, a Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker.
On the night of the 2nd, Choo Mi-ae started off her comments on social media by stating, “Humans are warm-blooded animals.”
She continued, questioning, “Is the leader of a rebellion a cold-blooded animal whose body temperature rises when the special prosecutor reads the warrant and falls when the lawyer calls him to the meeting room?”
Previously, the special prosecutor’s office reported, “The suspect, without wearing prison attire, lay on the floor and strongly resisted arrest.”
In response, former President Yoon’s legal team explained that the prison attire was removed due to concerns about impaired body temperature regulation as “ventilation inside the holding cell is inadequate.”
Furthermore, Choo Mi-ae countered the defense team’s argument that the special prosecutor brought cameras and infringed on human rights.
She posed a rhetorical question, “Shouldn’t there be at least the courtesy of wearing prison attire when the special prosecutor enters with an arrest warrant as part of his official duties?”
