First Lady Kim Hye-kyung was diagnosed with vertigo, preventing her from accompanying President Lee to the Korea-Japan summit scheduled on the 30th in Busan.
Presidential Physician Park Sang-min stated in a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office, “Last evening, First Lady Kim Hye-kyung experienced a sudden bout of dizziness. I visited the residence to conduct an examination. A neurological assessment confirmed she has vertigo, influenced by an issue with the otolith in her right ear.”
Dr. Park added, “We performed a treatment to reposition the otolith, which led to an improvement; however, some symptoms persist, so it was decided she will undergo medication treatment and take rest. Consequently, First Lady Kim Hye-kyung will not be able to attend her scheduled engagements today.”
