[Breaking News] North Korea: “Kim Jong Un to visit China on September 3rd for Victory Day celebrations”

Kim Jong-un, Chairman of North Korea’s State Affairs Commission, visited a special operations training base directly under the General Staff Department of the Korean People’s Army on the 27th to inspect the armed equipment and training situations of the sniper brigade and special operations brigade, reported Korean Central TV on the 28th.

North Korea announced on the 28th that Chairman Kim is scheduled to attend the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in the war against Japan in Beijing, China, on the 3rd of next month.

The Korean Central News Agency reported, “Beloved Comrade Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, will soon visit the People’s Republic of China to attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in the People’s Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War at the invitation of Comrade Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China.”

Meanwhile, Hong Lei, Assistant Minister of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also announced Kim’s attendance during a briefing on the preparations for the commemorative activities of the “80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japan and the World Anti-Fascist War.”
