Immediately after President Yoon Seok-yeol’s public statement on the 12th, Han Dong-hoon urgently called for a gathering of the party’s ethics committee to discuss President Yoon’s expulsion and removal from the party.
Han Dong-hoon told reporters at the National Assembly, “I did not expect such a statement to come out,” and added, “It has become even clearer that President Yoon is unable to fulfill his presidential duties.”
Han stated, “The president’s exercise of duties should be urgently stopped and settled through impeachment procedures,” and added, “Our party should support impeachment as party policy.”
In his public address, President Yoon mentioned, “The martial law measure is a high-level political judgment by the president,” questioning, “How can a constitutional decision and an act of governance by the president be considered a rebellion?” He further stated, “I will firmly face impeachment or investigation.”
