On the 13th, the Democratic Party strongly criticized the prosecution, accusing them of being the real culprits in the ‘North Korea remittance suspicions’ case. This was in response to media reports that Kim Seong-tae, former chairperson of Ssangbangwool, denied any connection between the case and President Lee Jae-myung.

Kim Byung-gi, the party floor leader, stated in the top council meeting, “Chairperson Bae Sang-yoon of KH Group, former chairperson Kim Seong-tae, and their lawyer have denied President Lee’s involvement. Despite key witnesses consistently denying it, the prosecution is solely pushing to implicate the president as an accomplice,” he argued.

Kim continued, “They are maintaining charges with a fixation that President Lee must be the perpetrator and are pushing the trial. They are proving themselves to be the real culprits in the North Korea remittance suspicions case,” he pointed out.
