(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Hong Guk-gi = Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok stated on the 2nd, “The role of public officials becomes extremely important, especially when the country is facing challenges.”

During the government New Year ceremony held at the Seoul Government Complex, Acting President Choi remarked, “While the New Year has dawned, we are facing an unprecedentedly grave situation in South Korea.”

He analyzed, “With changes in international dynamics, the trade environment is rapidly shifting, and the diplomatic and security landscape is altering. There is significant public concern and anxiety due to uncertainties in domestic politics.”

He emphasized, “To stabilize the administration promptly so that the public can lead their daily lives without worry, all public officials must dedicate their utmost effort.”

He added, “We must put every effort possible to ensure robust diplomacy and security, maintain an unshakable economy, secure the safety of the citizens, and uphold the foundation of the nation’s well-being and the people’s lives without disturbance.”
