Acting Chief Choi stated regarding the arrest warrant, “There should be no unfortunate incidents due to clashes.”

▲ Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok, who is also the Minister of Economy and Finance, meets with Kwon Young-se, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, at the National Assembly on the 13th.

Acting President Choi emphasized in regard to the execution of the arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol, “Under no circumstances should there be any injuries to citizens or unfortunate incidents due to physical clashes,” and urged efforts from the National Assembly.

Choi made these remarks during a meeting with Kwon Young-se in the National Assembly this morning (the 13th).

He also stated, “I hope the national policy council involving both the ruling and opposition parties, along with the government, will become active in the areas of people’s livelihoods, the economy, and trade,” adding, “I hope that through this council, bills related to the people’s livelihood, such as the Tax Restriction Act, Semiconductor Special Act, and Electricity Act, which are pending in the National Assembly, will be passed quickly.”

Regarding the Special Investigation Law on Rebellion and the Special Investigation Law on First Lady Kim Keon-hee, he said, “I understand that discussions between the ruling and opposition parties are scheduled,” and requested, “Please work together to prepare a special investigation bill without unconstitutional elements.”

He continued, “The government will make every effort, with all departments working as one team, to stabilize public welfare and state affairs,” and added, “I hope both the ruling and opposition parties can come together for this purpose.”
