野, The National Assembly’s Judicial Committee ‘Yoon Impeachment Hearing’ Kim Geon-hee and her daughter selected as witnesses

The National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee decided to hold a parliamentary inquiry regarding the impeachment proposal of President Yoon Seok-yeol raised in a national petition demanding the impeachment announcement. The committee convened a plenary session on the 9th and processed the petition to immediately propose the impeachment of President Yoon for debate, adoption of the inquiry plan, submission of documents, and summons for witnesses and experts, excluding only the opposition parties including the People Power Party, who protested against the decision and left without participating in the vote.

The witness list for the inquiry includes First Lady Kim and Choi, as well as 17 witnesses related to allegations of stock manipulation at Deutsche Motors and luxury bag bribes. Additionally, 22 individuals are listed as witnesses for the investigation into external pressures regarding investigations into the suicide of Corporal Cha, including former Marine Corps 1st Division Commander Im Sung-keun, former Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-seob, and Marine Corps Commander Kim Gye-hwan, among others. There are also 7 individuals listed as experts for the inquiry.

The Legislative and Judicial Committee plans to address issues related to the presidential impeachment proposal during the inquiry on the 19th, focusing on allegations of external pressure on the investigation of Corporal Cha’s death, and on the 26th, discussing allegations of stock manipulation and bribery related to First Lady Kim.

A national petition in support of the impeachment proposal for President Yoon Seok-yeol was submitted and signed by 1.33 million people by the deadline, raising concerns about allegations of external pressure in the investigation of the late Corporal Cha and the luxury bag bribery involving First Lady Kim, among other reasons. The deadline for petition support is the 20th.
