“What is the external policy environment we face?”… ‘2025 Future Outlook Conference’ held

Joint Hosting by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Institute for International Economic Policy… At Korea Press Center on the 18th

(Seoul=News1) Reporter Kim Il-chang – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 17th that it will host the “2025 Future Outlook Conference” with the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 18th to forecast international trends for various sectors next year.

The conference will feature heads and researchers from 26 research institutes, including the Korea Development Institute (KDI), Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), Science and Technology Policy Institute, Korea Institute of Public Administration, Korea Environment Institute, and Korea Institute for National Unification, to analyze the external policy environment faced by South Korea.

In the first session, the focus will be on “Korea as a Global Cultural Platform,” while the second session will examine major international issues and outlooks expected in 2025, along with policy implications.

The final session will compile all discussions to propose policy tasks and promotional strategies that South Korea should focus on as a central figure in the international community, gathering thoughts on what is called the “K-Discourse.” Free discussions will be held centered around theme-specific moderators.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy signed a practical memorandum of understanding last month on the 4th, aiming to “formulate policies towards becoming a global pivotal nation,” and this event marks their first joint activity since then.

This conference also marks the first step for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as the main body for international cultural promotion, to collaborate with academia and research institutes to study international trends in various fields.
