Volkswagen Korea aims for a sales rebound by launching four new car models in the first half of the year.

Volkswagen Korea is launching four new models in the first half of the year to boost sales. The company announced that customer deliveries for the coupe-style electric SUV “ID.5” will begin in April. The ID.5 is a coupe-style expansion model of Volkswagen’s flagship electric SUV, the ID.4.

Following the ID.5, Volkswagen plans to release the large gasoline SUV “Atlas,” which is set to enter the domestic large SUV market, emphasizing strong performance, spacious interiors, and advanced features.

Additionally, the high-performance version of the recently unveiled hatchback, the “new Golf GTI,” is also in preparation for release. This sporty model offers top-notch dynamic driving performance in a compact car.

With these new model releases, Volkswagen aims to rebound in the market after its sales dropped by 19.2% in 2024 compared to 2023, falling below the 10,000 units mark and dropping from 7th to 9th place in the rankings.

Volkswagen Group Korea’s CEO, Till Scheer, stated that 2025 will be a pivotal year for Volkswagen Korea to rise to the next level with an attractive model lineup that meets the needs of Korean customers. He emphasized Volkswagen’s position as a leading brand in the domestic SUV and electric vehicle markets, aiming to become the most preferred brand among Korean customers.
