“Nobel Week” will be held in Sweden for a week until the 12th. The Nobel Committee celebrates the laureates with press conferences, lectures, award ceremonies, and banquets during this period.

On the morning of the 6th, Han Kang, the Nobel Literature Prize winner, will visit the Nobel Museum as her first official event, where she will sign a chair and donate her memorabilia to the museum. Later, at 9 PM Korean time, she will hold the first press conference among this year’s laureates.

The following day, a lecture is scheduled at 1 AM Korean time on the 8th. It is customary for all Nobel laureates to give a lecture of about an hour, where past literature laureates have shared their thoughts on writing and their literary worlds. Han Kang is also said to have prepared a lecture reflecting on her overall literary world.

The highlight of the Nobel Week, the award ceremony and banquet, will be held on the 10th. After being introduced by an Academy official, the laureate takes the podium, with the last sentence traditionally presented in the laureate’s native language.

During the 2023 Nobel Prize ceremony (in Norwegian): “Dear Jon, we request you to come forward to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature from His Majesty the King, along with the warm congratulations of the Swedish Academy.”

Additionally, on the last day of “Nobel Week,” the 12th, a reading session in which Han Kang will personally participate in a talk is scheduled.

During this period, public lighting art installations will illuminate Stockholm, and a large illuminated portrait of Han Kang will be displayed at Stockholm City Hall.
