The 4,500 km-long Korea Trail to be fully opened in September.. A nationwide campaign for a round-the-country tour.

[헤럴드경제=함영훈 기자] Following the completion of the East Sea Blue Path, South Sea Blue Path, and West Sea Blue Path, the Korea Dulegil, a 4-sided road that connects the four coasts, totaling 4500 km, will be completely opened by the end of September.

Korea Tourism Organization will conduct a nationwide event commemorating the complete opening of the Korea Dulegil at the end of September. The event started on August 21, a month before the full opening, and will continue until November 30. This campaign is prepared to celebrate the opening of the final section, the ‘DMZ Peace Road’, following the completion of the East Sea Blue Path in 2016, the South Sea Blue Path in 2020, and the West Sea Blue Path in 2022.

From August 21 to September 25, a preliminary event will take place, where participants can download the Korea Dulegil-exclusive application ‘Duro Noobi’, log in, and simply press the participate button on the campaign page to enter. A total of 500 Starbucks gift certificates will be distributed through a draw.

The main event linked to the complete opening of the Korea Dulegil will be held from September 26 to November 30, lasting for about two months. Participants who complete at least one course of the Korea Dulegil and certify through ‘Duro Noobi’, allowing for satisfaction surveys, will be considered as completed participants.

All participants will receive a special mobile certification badge for completing the 4500 km nationwide journey, and among them, the first 5000 participants will receive mobile gift vouchers. Additionally, there will be a giveaway of trekking sets worth 500,000 won through a draw.

Joo Sang-geon, head of the Leisure Tourism Team at the Korea Tourism Organization, said, “The organization is currently working on projects to promote walking tours, such as the Korea Dulegil Challenge, through collaborations with private companies like Samsung and Kakao.” He added, “With the complete opening of the Korea Dulegil this year, we aim to expand collaborations with various organizations and provide enjoyment of walking tours to the entire nation.”

The Korea Tourism Organization plans to hold Korea Dulegil Walking Festivals in approximately 30 local governments including Busan, Goseong, and Suncheon, from September to October. Additionally, various walking programs will be prepared. Furthermore, various contents featuring Korea Dulegil travel guides will be available from mid-September through official SNS of Duro Noobi and influencer YouTube channels participating in the campaign.
