Pope Francis’ autobiography “Hope” ranks as the number one bestseller in the religion category on Kyobo Bookstore and Yes24 bestseller lists.

Pope Francis’ autobiography “Hope” has reached the number one spot in the religion category of the bestseller list. According to the list released by Kyobo Book Centre for the third week of April (based on sales from April 16th to 22nd), “Hope” climbed two spots to secure the top position in the religion section. “Hope” is the official autobiography that Pope Francis wrote over six years.

In the Yes24 rankings, “Hope” also reached second place in the religion category. Another book by Pope Francis, “My Life,” took the third spot in the same category.

The overall bestseller in Kyobo Book Centre was the popular children’s comic series “The Ordinary Brother.” The previous week’s number one, Lee Jae-myung’s “The People Do It Eventually,” fell to second place. Han Kang’s new work “Light and Thread” began sales in bookstores on the 24th, so it did not make it to the week’s bestseller list but soared to the top in the online daily rankings.
