Nationwide temperatures hovering around 35 degrees, with intense heat… Heavy rain on Jeju Island and the southern coast [Weather]

The nationwide heat wave warning continues. The scorching heat with a heat index surpassing 35 degrees Celsius will persist during the day today (26th), and heavy rain is expected in Jeju and the southern coast. For detailed weather information, let’s connect to the weather center.

Tell us, weather caster Yang Tae-bin.

Tropical nights occur at night, while scorching heat dominates during the day.

As the heat wave warning is in effect in many areas, the daytime temperature in Seoul is expected to reach 34 degrees Celsius, higher than yesterday.

Temperatures will rise up to 34 degrees Celsius in Gangneung, Daejeon, and Daegu, and some places will feel a heat index exceeding 35 degrees.

Meanwhile, with a large amount of water vapor coming in from a typhoon landing in China, heavy rain is falling mainly in Jeju and the southern regions, accompanied by strong winds.

Heavy rain is expected to concentrate in these regions until tomorrow.

In the mountains of Jeju, over 400mm of rain is expected, and in the coastal areas of South Jeolla Province, more than 150mm of heavy rain will pour down.

Moreover, starting from tonight, more than 80mm of heavy rain is expected in the northern part of Gyeonggi Province, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province.

Inland areas also have a chance of showers during the day.

Due to the unstable atmosphere, localized heavy showers of over 80mm may concentrate as locally developed clouds grow, so please be careful to avoid any damage.

Amid the relentless heat throughout the day and night until this weekend, strong showers will continue in various inland areas.
