As the spring sun shines through the clouds, the temperature is quickly rising. Currently, the temperature in Seoul is 11.9 degrees, which is 4 degrees higher than the same time yesterday. However, with the mild weather comes a problem with fine dust. The current concentration of fine dust in Seoul is 53 micrograms per cubic meter, which is 2 to 3 times higher than usual. Elderly people, children, and those with respiratory illnesses should wear masks designed for fine dust when going outside.
Let’s take a closer look at the air quality status. The fine dust concentration in most areas, except for the southern coast, has reached ‘bad’ levels. Particularly in the Incheon area, a fine dust advisory is in effect, so extra caution is needed for outdoor activities.
Today’s daytime temperature will rise to 13 degrees in Seoul and 15 degrees in Gwangju and Daegu, exceeding the average levels for this time of year. This week, overall, we will experience typical spring weather with large temperature differences between day and night. Rain is expected in the southern Chungcheong region and further south on Wednesday.
As we enter the changing season, temperature fluctuations are becoming quite significant. Given the large temperature differences between morning and afternoon, and between day and night, please pay attention to your clothing and health management.
