The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 24th that they will invest a record budget of 19.8 billion KRW in the “AI Content Production Support” project for 2026. The aim is to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic AI content industry through tailored support according to the growth stages of content companies, categorized into three types: entry-level, pioneering, and collaborative. This support system is designed to facilitate a systematic leap from initial entry to global market expansion.
The entry-level category will support small businesses with AI-based content production capabilities, with up to 200 million KRW per project, selecting approximately 24 projects. The pioneering category focuses on producing content with global competitiveness through advanced AI technology, offering up to 700 million KRW per project and selecting about 10 projects. The collaborative category promotes co-growth by enhancing the potential for content commercialization through collaboration between large or medium-sized enterprises and small enterprises, with up to 400 million KRW per project and selecting around 16 projects.
Additionally, an empowerment support program will be operated for selected companies, including legal, copyright, and commercialization consultations, expert connections, and business matching, to enhance practical skills required in the AI content production process, ensuring stable business outcomes.
Furthermore, in the second half of 2026, an “AI Content Festival” will be held to spread the achievements of production support to the industry and the public. Yoo Hyun-seok, acting president of the Korea Creative Content Agency, stated that AI content is a core area leading the future content industry, and the agency will continue to strengthen the scale and system of support so that companies can build production experience and connect it to commercialization.
