Child Will Be Registered as Hong Sang-soo’s ‘Out-of-wedlock’ Offspring
A report has emerged that actress Kim Min-hee is expecting a child with her partner, director Hong Sang-soo. According to reports, she is currently six months pregnant.
On the 17th, Dispatch reported that Kim Min-hee (42) is six months pregnant, expecting to give birth soon. The father is film director Hong Sang-soo (64).
According to the report, Kim Min-hee became pregnant naturally with Hong Sang-soo’s child, and they discovered the pregnancy last summer. The birth is expected this spring.
Kim Min-hee and Hong Sang-soo visited a gynecology clinic together for a regular check-up on the 15th of this year. It is known that Hong Sang-soo has been taking care of Kim Min-hee, accompanying her from the pregnancy test to check-ups.
Currently, Kim Min-hee and Hong Sang-soo reside in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province. Hong Sang-soo moved out of his marital home in Apgujeong, Seoul, and got a new place in Hanam, where Kim Min-hee’s parents live. Aside from visiting the gynecology clinic, the couple spends their days dating in Seoul or shopping at a local mart near Hanam.
However, even after Kim Min-hee’s child is born, the child will be registered as an out-of-wedlock offspring in Hong Sang-soo’s family registry, and the legal mother will be his current wife. This issue arises because Hong Sang-soo and his wife haven’t fully divorced yet, preventing Kim Min-hee from registering the child solely under her name.
Meanwhile, Kim Min-hee and Hong Sang-soo have been in the spotlight for their affair since 2016. Despite Hong having a family, their relationship blossomed after collaborating on the 2015 film “Right Now, Wrong Then.” They publicly admitted to their affair the following year and have been together for nine years as a couple in an extramarital relationship.
Furthermore, due to her affair with the 22-year-older Hong Sang-soo, Kim Min-hee has not taken part in other projects. Together, they have collaborated on 15 films, including “On the Beach at Night Alone.”
