I’m here at Gwanghwamun, and the current temperature is 7 degrees Celsius.
With the strong winds, the wind chill feels like it’s around 4 degrees.
Around this time yesterday, the temperature was in the 16-degree range.
It’s nearly a 10-degree drop in just one day.
Even people, who went out for leisure, are hurrying back home due to the cold weather.
As the temperatures rapidly drop, a cold wave advisory is in effect for some regions like Gangwon, Chungcheong, Gwangju, and Jeollanam-do.

Was it quite cold during the day as well?
[Reporter]
For most of the country, daytime temperatures have fallen by 5 to as much as over 10 degrees compared to yesterday.
Yesterday, the highest daytime temperature in Seoul was 22.6 degrees, but today it only reached 9.8 degrees.
With the rain overnight and strong winds, the late blooming autumn leaves have fallen all at once.
Even touring around the Gwanghwamun area, the trees are noticeably bare with only branches left.

Is tomorrow expected to be even colder?

On your commute tomorrow morning, make sure to dress warmly.
Morning temperatures will drop sharply, around 10 degrees more than today, with Seoul and Daejeon at minus 2 degrees, and Daegwallyeong at minus 6 degrees among others.
Tomorrow’s daytime high temperatures will remain in the single digits across most of the country, with Seoul at 7 degrees, and Gwangju and Daegu at 9 degrees.
From Wednesday, the temperatures will gradually rise but expect another cold spell by the weekend.
