A heavy rain warning is in effect for Seoul and other areas in the metropolitan area and northern Chungcheongnam-do’s western coast.

A heavy rain alert has been issued for Ongjin County in Incheon.

Very heavy rainfall ranging from 10 to 60mm per hour is falling in these areas.

In Seoul, it’s raining at about 15mm per hour.

Northern Chungcheongnam-do will see 100mm of rainfall.

There will be significant rainfall, with it sometimes pouring intensely.

Seoul and the metropolitan area, as well as northern Chungcheongnam-do, will receive heavy showers up to 50mm per hour from this morning until early tomorrow morning. Gangwon will experience similar conditions from the afternoon.

Please be cautious of safety accidents such as flooding in low-lying areas and landslides.

The southern regions and Jeju will see most of the rain let up by the afternoon, but the central region will continue to experience rain until tomorrow.

On Liberation Day, the rain will subside, and there will be heatwaves and tropical nights.

With warm and humid winds blowing in, the perceived temperature will rise to around 33 degrees Celsius.

Many places will see the reissuance of heat wave advisories.

Today, strong winds are expected mainly on the western coast and central inland.
