The book “The People Come First” by former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon reached the top of the bestseller list immediately upon release.
According to Kyobo Bookstore on the 7th, “The People Come First” by Han Dong-hoon took the 1st place in the comprehensive bestseller list for the first week of March.
This book contains Han’s reflections from the 12/3 Martial Law incident to his resignation as party leader.
People in their 60s accounted for 27.0% of total sales, making them the largest group of buyers. They are followed by those in their 40s (24.9%), 50s (21.3%), 30s (19.0%), and 20s (7.2%).
In terms of gender, more women (56.6%) purchased the book compared to men (43.4%).
BTOB member Lee Changsub’s essay “A Suitable Person” also became a bestseller, ranking 2nd upon release.
Although the rankings for Han Kang’s works have slightly dropped, “The Boy is Coming” is 3rd and “The Vegetarian” is 9th, with two of her books still in the top 10.
The novel “Mickey 7,” the original story for director Bong Joon-ho’s film “Mickey 17,” climbed 73 spots to rank 24th, supported by the film’s release.
