Overnight, a strong chill descended, making the morning air significantly colder. The morning temperature in Seoul today stands at -2.4°C, which is about 7 degrees lower than yesterday. Additionally, with strong winds, the wind chill feels close to -7°C. Even during the day, the temperature will remain around 4°C, making it feel cold all day. When going outside, please pay extra attention to keeping warm with a warm coat.
Looking at the morning temperatures in other regions, temperatures have plummeted by more than 10 degrees in some central areas compared to yesterday. In particular, Incheon, under a cold wave advisory, dropped to -2.7°C. Other areas like Paju and Cheorwon showed -6°C and -5°C, respectively. During the day, central regions will also stay around 5°C, remaining cold. Today’s midday temperatures are expected to be 4°C in Seoul and 6°C in Cheongju.
During the day, only a few clouds will pass by, but it will gradually become overcast from the afternoon. Overnight, light rain or about 1 cm of snow is expected in Incheon, southwestern Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Jeonbuk regions, with less than 5 mm of precipitation. Additionally, Seoul might experience a few light raindrops or flurries at night.
The cold morning temperatures below freezing will continue for a while, and towards the end of the week, there is a forecast for rain or snow primarily in the Honam and Jeju Island areas. Until tomorrow, the gravitational pull of the moon is strong, causing higher sea levels. People near the coast should be extra cautious due to potential flooding during high tide.
