Today, the skies will differ between the central and southern regions.
In the central region, it will be cloudy with rain forecasted in some places, reducing the heat. Meanwhile, the southern region will enjoy clear skies, with daytime temperatures rising to around 30 degrees Celsius.
The expected rainfall today will be light, with 5-30mm in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, 5-20mm in the capital region and Chungcheong, and about 5mm in the east coast of Gangwon and Gyeongbuk. The rain should subside by the evening.
Looking at detailed temperatures for different regions, Gangneung will hit 25 degrees, and Chuncheon will reach 26 degrees. In the southern region, Daegu will rise to 29 degrees, Jeonju to 28 degrees, and Pohang will reach 30 degrees, indicating hot weather.
Strong sunshine will also be present in the afternoon, with the UV index soaring to the “very high” level. It’s advisable to protect yourself from the sun using a hat or an umbrella.
On Jeju Island’s coast, strong swells are expected. Even waves around 1.5 meters can pose a safety risk when swells occur, so it’s best to avoid approaching the coast.
Tomorrow, showers are forecasted for parts of the central region, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk. Temperature will gradually rise towards the weekend. Starting this weekend, the heat around 30 degrees will return nationwide.
This has been the weather report.
