“Chosun Royal Tombs Dressed in Spring Clothes Wide Open: Forest Paths Open for Six Weeks”

[Herald Economy=Lee Jeong-a] Eight forest paths in the royal tombs of the Joseon Dynasty will be open to the public for six weeks.

On the 12th, the Cultural Heritage Administration’s Royal Palaces and Tombs Center announced that, to widely promote the value of the world heritage Joseon Royal Tombs and to allow people to enjoy leisure and contemplation in nature during the spring season, eight forest paths in the Joseon Royal Tombs will be open from the 16th of this month until the 29th of the next month.

The Joseon Royal Tombs forest paths to be opened this time include:
– Guri Donggureung ‘Hwirung~Wonreung and Gyeongneung~Nature Learning Center Forest Path’
– Namyangju Gwangneung ‘Bokjagi Tree Forest Path’
– Namyangju Sareung ‘Pine Tree Path behind the Burial Mound’
– Seoul Taereung and Gangneung ‘Taereung~Gangneung (Children’s Yard)’
– Seoul Uireung ‘Cheonjangsan~Historical Landscape Restoration Area’
– Paju Jangneung ‘North Forest Path of the Burial Mound’
– Hwaseong Yungneung and Geolleung ‘Yungneung~Geolleung Forest Path’
– Paju Samneung ‘Yeongneung~Sulleung Small Pond and Gongneung North Forest Path’. The total length is 16.82 km.

Since 2019, the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center has been opening the Joseon Royal Tombs forest paths to the public during designated spring and autumn periods. The opening hours of the forest paths align with the visiting hours of the respective royal tombs.
