Over 110 major galleries from around 30 countries worldwide participating
First ever unveiling of the collaborative art car by Julie Mehretu in Asia
World premiere of BMW i7 miniature edition, ‘[by Daily Economic Reporter Gong Ji-yu] BMW announced on the 23rd that it will participate as an official partner in the prestigious art fair ‘Frieze Seoul 2024,’ which will be held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul from the 4th to the 7th of next month.’,

, ‘The 20th BMW Art Car is based on the BMW M brand’s race car, the ‘BMW M Hybrid V8’. For the Art Car design, Julie Mehretu used a 2D to 3D conversion method for the first time to infuse dynamism into the form of the vehicle. The design of the work adopts the colors and forms of the artist’s representative work, ‘Everywhen’.’,

, ‘Furthermore, BMW plans to conduct media workshops where African artists can exchange ideas and collaborate as they tour various cities in Africa with Mehretu from 2025 to 2026. The project outcomes will be showcased at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town, South Africa.’,

, ‘The BMW i7 miniature edition was planned and produced by Hans Ulrich Obrist, the artistic director of the Serpentine Galleries in the UK and a BMW Art Car jury member. A total of 14 BMW i7 miniature editions will be exclusively sold at Frieze Seoul. These artworks will be exhibited at the BMW booth, and onsite purchases will be available. The proceeds from the sale of the miniatures will be donated to charity.’,
