Up to 140 km/h with Electric Motor Only
“(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Seung-yeon = Bentley Motors Korea announced on the 31st that it will launch the 4th-generation ‘The New Continental GT Speed’ (hereinafter referred to as Continental GT Speed) in Korea.”
“The convertible model of the same design, ‘The New Continental GTC Speed,’ will also be released.”
‘The Continental GT Speed is a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) equipped with a next-generation ultra-performance hybrid system. It combines a new 4L V8 engine with 600 horsepower and a 190 horsepower electric motor, delivering a system total output of 782 horsepower.’
‘The system torque is 102kg·m, and it reaches 100 km/h from a stationary position (0 to 100 km/h time) in 3.2 seconds. Compared to the previous generation, maximum torque is improved by 11%, and maximum output is increased by 19%, making it the most powerful performance in Bentley road cars to date.’
‘It can accelerate up to a maximum speed of 140 km/h with pure electric power alone, and the driving range is 81 km based on European WLTP standards.’
‘Depending on the driver’s situation, various driving modes such as electric drive mode, electric boost mode, regenerative braking mode, and battery charging mode can be selected.’
“The Continental GT Speed inherits Bentley’s design philosophy known as ‘The stance of a resting beast.’ Its sleek silhouette and added voluminous design centered around the wheels evoke the image of a crouching beast ready to leap.”
‘Notably, instead of the two circular lamps that have been in use for over 50 years, a single elongated headlamp is used, highlighting its sophisticated image. The single headlamp is applied in Bentley mass production models for the first time since the 1959 S2.’
‘The headlamp features a crystal cut diamond pattern and horizontal illuminated lights, making its presence felt from any angle.’
‘Inspired by tiger claws, 22-inch wheels are applied, and two new exterior color options, green (Tourmaline Green) and gray (Gravity Grey), have been added.’
‘The interior features seats with a new quilt pattern, adding luxury, while the central 12.3-inch rotating high-resolution display and analog clock showcase a blend of craftsmanship and advanced technology.’
“The Continental GT Speed is equipped with a new chassis control system, ‘Performance Active Chassis,’ improving handling, ride comfort, and performance. It minimizes body lean when cornering, and the software enables all four wheels to steer according to driving conditions, offering stable driving performance in any environment.”
