Yoo Jae-suk is leaving his home network after three years… The show “Syncro You,” which revolutionized the variety scene, comes to an end.

[OSEN=Jang Woo-young] The variety show “SyncroU,” which brought a fresh breeze to the entertainment industry, will conclude its season and take time to reorganize.

According to OSEN’s coverage on the 19th, KBS2’s “SyncroU” will end its season after 12 episodes and take a break for reorganization.

Directed by Kwon Jae-oh, “SyncroU” is a variety music show where top dream artists, whose voices are as notable as their names, perform fantasy cover stages within an AI-created 99% synchronized setting. The pilot episode sparked interest with its impressive cover stages that provided endless emotions and a battle of eardrums to find the real 1%, leading to its regular programming due to popular demand.

Returning as a regular program on September 16th during the Chuseok holiday, “SyncroU” achieved a national rating of 3.7% and a peak rating of 6.1%, claiming the top spot among entertainment shows in the same time slot during the Chuseok holiday across the three main broadcast companies, signaling a successful start. It has continued to receive much love by offering soothing performances each Monday.

As episodes progressed, “SyncroU” garnered attention with increasingly sophisticated AI technology and surprising twists. While AI delivered unexpected moments, the dream artists displayed their true skills, captivating the stages. A notable example is the performance of “Speed” by Kim Ki-tae and Hyung-ho Kang of Forestella, aired in the fifth episode, which surpassed 1 million YouTube views just three days after its release and currently holds 2.58 million views. Bolbbalgan4’s “LOVE DIVE” reached 1 million views on Instagram, showcasing its popularity.

Amid this popularity, KBS achieved a milestone by signing a content supply contract with Taiwan’s leading OTT platform, “friDay Video,” to broadcast the complete series of “SyncroU.” Instead of selling the program format licensing rights, KBS sold the finished product for airing.

Despite its success and the new wave it brought to the entertainment scene, “SyncroU” will wrap up its season and take a break for reorganization. Unless there are preemptions, the season will conclude with the 12th episode airing on December 2nd.
