[OSEN=Kim Chaeyeon Reporter] As excitement builds for the return of the drama ‘Signal 2’, coming back with a second season after 10 years, the filming set has been spotted.
On the 5th, photos of actors Jo Jin-woong and Lee Je-hoon filming the new tvN drama ‘Second Signal’ were released on an online community.
In the photos, Jo Jin-woong looks significantly heavier and Lee Je-hoon is seen holding a hand warmer, giving a V-sign pose.
In particular, Jo Jin-woong appears to have gained weight around his belly, although his face shows no signs of weight gain. Some netizens suggest that the weight gain might be part of his costume instead of actual weight gain.
Additionally, there is considerable interest in Kim Hye-soo’s yet-to-be-revealed styling. On the same day, Kim Hye-soo posted a photo on her personal social media without any comment. The photo caption reads ‘Second Signal Cha Soo-hyun role Kim Hye-soo,’ drawing attention.
Meanwhile, ‘Second Signal’, set to air in 2026, is the second season of ‘Signal’ which aired in 2016.
‘Signal’ was a crime drama featuring detectives from the past and present linked via desperate signals (radio transmissions) from the past, working together to solve long-unsolved cases, and was well-loved with performances by Kim Hye-soo, Jo Jin-woong, and Lee Je-hoon.
Following the positive reception, Season 2 will see the return of major characters: the cold-case team detective Cha Soo-hyun played by Kim Hye-soo, violent crimes detective Lee Jae-han played by Jo Jin-woong, and cold-case team profiler Park Hae-young played by Lee Je-hoon.
Furthermore, writer Kim Eun-hee is back from the previous installment to handle the screenplay, while director Ahn Tae-jin, known for his work on the film ‘The Night Owl’, is taking the helm, increasing anticipation for the drama. With reports from the filming set emerging, attention is focused on the broadcast next year.
