On the 14th, a man in his 30s, Mr. A, was arrested as a suspect at the scene after attempting inappropriate physical contact with a victim who he had brought to his home after drinking at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The victim is a well-known BJ (broadcast jockey), and Mr. A is known to be the brother of a popular girl group member, which caused a stir.
Two days before the incident, Mr. A purchased a “meal date ticket” from the victim. However, on the 17th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the police’s request for an arrest warrant for Mr. A due to insufficient evidence.
Meanwhile, someone identifying as Mr. A’s wife, Ms. B, spoke out. Ms. B claimed, “Two weeks after registering our marriage, he began beating and verbally abusing me severely. He forced sexual relations, filmed videos while I was naked, and forced me to swallow phlegm. He hit my head with a phone until it bent in half and used a water bottle for water torture. He made me kneel, beg, and chant ‘I am sorry,’ and if I didn’t answer him within 3 seconds, the abuse would begin.”
She continued, “Whenever I mentioned wanting a divorce or threatened to report him, he beat me more. Once, I was caught recording his verbal abuse, was beaten, almost waterboarded, and was forced to delete the recordings. He demanded couple tattoos and restricted my contact with both male and female friends. He installed CCTV to monitor and verbally threatened me,” revealing photos of her bruised body.
However, Ms. B’s claims have not been verified, and Mr. A’s side has not commented on her accusations.
In this situation, SBS’s “Curious Story Y” has stepped in. On the 18th, they posted on their official account, “We are waiting for information from those who are well aware of the famous celebrity brother accused of sexually harassing an internet personal broadcast female host.” However, the post was abruptly deleted in less than a day. “Curious Story Y” stated, “While the post has been deleted, the investigation is ongoing.”
