Turbulent Hwisung, plastic surgery and health problems? Associate: “Gained weight… currently on a diet.”

[OSEN=Reporter Kim Nayeon] Singer Wheesung has caused concerns with his swollen appearance, but his associate denied any health issues.

On the 7th, Wheesung uploaded a photo on his social media account with the caption “A selfie after a million years.”

The photo featured Wheesung taking a selfie in what appeared to be his home, wearing a casual t-shirt and smiling.

However, Wheesung in the photo drew attention with his somewhat swollen face, sparking various speculations ranging from plastic surgery to health issues.

Regarding this, on the 8th, Wheesung’s associate explained to OSEN in a phone call, “He gained some weight and is currently on a diet to lose it” and clarified that “there is no plastic surgery or health issues at all.”

Recently, Wheesung also drew attention for announcing the release of a new song. On the 3rd of last month, he stated, “The upcoming REALSLOW 1st album is being made with all the tracks rated 19+. It’s about 40% completed and aims to be released this winter.”

Regarding this, Wheesung’s associate mentioned, “He is currently preparing for the album. The exact release date is not set, but I expect it to be around early next year” and explained, “He just gained a bit of weight, and there are no health issues at all.”

On another note, Wheesung was indicted in the following year for buying propofol 12 times over three months starting from September 2019 and habitually injecting it. In March 2021, he was sentenced to 1 year in prison with a 2-year suspended sentence, and in October of the same year, the appellate court sentenced him to the same 1 year in prison with a 2-year suspended sentence, a fine of 60.5 million won, 40 hours of community service, and 40 hours of drug therapy lectures.
