Actress Kim Min-hee is reportedly pregnant with director Hong Sang-soo’s child, and Hong’s wife has shared her response.
According to K-Star News on the 17th, Hong’s wife stated, “I was completely unaware (of the news about my husband Hong Sang-soo’s child)” and added, “Thank you for informing me.” It is reported that she did not respond to any further questions.
Earlier the same day, Dispatch reported that Kim Min-hee is pregnant with Hong Sang-soo’s child. According to the report, 42-year-old Kim Min-hee has been involved in a 9-year affair with 64-year-old married director Hong Sang-soo, and they are currently living together in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province. It is said that they learned about the pregnancy last summer and expect to give birth this spring.
After learning about Kim Min-hee’s pregnancy, Hong accompanied her to the obstetrician, showing bold support by attentively taking care of Kim during her pregnancy check-ups.
Hong, who married Ms. A during his studies in the United States in 1985 and has a daughter, developed a romantic relationship with Kim Min-hee following the release of his film ‘Right Now, Wrong Then’ in 2015. They publicly acknowledged their affair at a press conference for the domestic premiere of ‘On the Beach at Night Alone’ in 2017, causing a shock.
In 2019, Hong filed for divorce from Ms. A but lost the case. He eventually gave up on appealing, and has continued his affair with Kim Min-hee for 10 years now.
Dispatch added that Kim Min-hee’s child would be registered as an extramarital child in Hong’s family registry, with Ms. A listed as the mother. It was also mentioned that Kim Min-hee might choose to register the child solely under her name.
