[TV Report = Reporter Kim Hyun-seo] A diary has been released that suggests actor Kim Soo-hyun, who was rumored to have been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron since her minor years, was not her boyfriend during his military service.
On the 30th, attorney Go Sang-rok from the law firm Phil mentioned, “I was recently appointed as the representative for Kim Soo-hyun and have reviewed all the materials,” highlighting the diary Kim wrote during his military service.
Attorney Go stated, “Comparing the writing meant for his actual girlfriend with the letters sent to the late acquaintance reveals a clear difference in tone,” adding, “He used expressions like ‘I love you’ for his girlfriend, whereas his letters to Kim Sae-ron contained reflections of the day, weather, and military life.” He emphasized, “This document being placed alongside a postcard sent two years later during an actual relationship led to a distortion as if they were romantic letters. At the time, there was no relationship between Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun.”
Attorney Go further explained, “The actor was serving in a frontline isolated environment at a late age and had to adapt to public attention. During this period, amidst a sense of camaraderie with fellow celebrities, juniors, and seniors, he felt a sense of relief and gratitude. Whenever he had time, he would write letters to acquaintances outside, sharing his thoughts on military life and his determination to return to acting after discharge, reaffirming his sense of belonging as an actor. The publicly disclosed single letter sent to the deceased was part of this.” He also released excerpts from letters exchanged between Kim Soo-hyun and his past girlfriend.
Since March, Kim Soo-hyun has been embroiled in rumors that he dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor. Initially denying the dating rumors with Kim Sae-ron, Kim Soo-hyun later admitted to a relationship, stating, “We dated after she became an adult.”
However, controversy intensified when a letter Kim sent to Kim Sae-ron during his military service was disclosed. A YouTuber, referred to as A, revealed a letter where Kim addressed Kim Sae-ron with the nickname ‘Sae-ronero,’ claiming they were in a romantic relationship. Reacting to this, his agency, Gold Medalist, declared, “These are unfounded falsehoods that cannot be overlooked,” and announced plans to consider “the strongest possible legal action against the dissemination of false information.”
Currently, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency has filed charges against A for violations of the Stalking Punishment Act and defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act.
