The headline discusses Baek Ji-young and her steadfast relationship with Jung Seok-won, despite past drug controversies. It suggests that there are reasons for their strong bond, quoting her as saying, “Even if we hit rock bottom, we won’t divorce.”

[Sports Chosun Online Reporter Lee Ge-eun] Singer Baek Ji-young expressed her unwavering affection for her husband, actor Jung Suk-won, and shared her views on marriage.

On the 27th, a video featuring Baek Ji-young was released on the ‘Hyungsoo is K.Will’ channel.

K.Will asked Baek Ji-young, “What promise did you make when you got married?” Baek Ji-young replied, “The promise that ‘a couple is one in joy and sorrow. I am on your side, and I won’t abandon you’ is deeply ingrained in my heart.” K.Will was curious if she ever thought about quitting when they argued or went through difficult times, to which Baek Ji-young answered, “There are times I feel like giving it all up, but I’ve never left even a 0.1% possibility of divorce. Even if we have big fights, I promised never to break up.”

Baek Ji-young shared her thoughts, saying, “I think marriage is the most sacred event in life. In a relationship, you can choose not to show your worst side, and even if you do, you can break up. But in marriage, situations where you have to show your worst side arise 100%, and you shouldn’t break up. Not saying that you should never divorce, though. If it gets too hard, you must consider it. I believe the decision to divorce is much more challenging than maintaining the marriage.”

She continued, “A couple is a team. It’s like being unable to part with your parents. My husband and I often say, ‘We have a camaraderie.’ I hope when you get married, you feel this. It’s an incredibly happy feeling, and having a child makes it even better,” strongly recommending marriage to K.Will.

Meanwhile, Baek Ji-young married Jung Suk-won, who is nine years younger, in 2013 and gave birth to a daughter in 2017. Jung Suk-won faced legal issues in 2018 for drug use and received a suspended sentence of two years after a 10-month prison sentence, which made headlines. After pausing his career, Jung Suk-won returned to the stage with the play ‘Won’t You Marry Me?’ in April.
