Soyoujin♥’s Baek Jong-won: “I received unfortunate news last year; there was simply no way to save it.”

Chef Baek Jong-won extended a helping hand to a couple who owned a restaurant with whom he had formed a connection through a TV program. On the 14th, a video titled “Are you going to give up like this? Cheorwon Alley Restaurant” was released on Baek Jong-won’s channel.

Baek Jong-won made a surprise visit to a restaurant he had connected with in the past through the show “Alley Restaurant.” He offered advice on their menu. The restaurant owner couple expressed their gratitude, to which Baek Jong-won humorously replied, “It’s all debt. The interest is high.”

The connection between the restaurant and Baek Jong-won is as follows. Originally operating their restaurant in Cheorwon, the owner couple faced difficulties due to COVID-19, parking issues, and population decline, making it hard to sustain their business. Baek Jong-won offered his support to help revive the establishment, suggesting that they move from Cheorwon as it seemed impossible to salvage the situation there. With Baek Jong-won’s assistance, the restaurant was reopened in Gimpo.

Before the reopening, Baek Jong-won provided consultation on potential changes to the restaurant and advised them, “Just stay consistent without being greedy.” On the first day of reopening, the restaurant was filled with customers. The owner couple expressed their determination to hold onto Baek Jong-won’s words and to not lose their initial resolve, thanking him for his help.

Baek Jong-won commented, “At the beginning of last year, I received some unfortunate news. The Cheorwon Alley Restaurant, known for its sincerity and skill, was considering closure. Despite their good skills and dedication, the young owner couple was struggling with a challenging business environment. I’m going to try to continue the bond we formed with the young owners, which started four years ago in Cheorwon.” His words of encouragement for the couple created a warm and supportive atmosphere.
