Song Baek-kyung finally removed the tattoo he once found embarrassing, saying, “My two sons thought it looked cool, like a gangster.”

[Sports Chosun.com Reporter Lee Woo-ju] Song Baek-kyung, formerly of the group 1TYM, has started the process of tattoo removal.

On the 22nd, Song Baek-kyung stated, “Today, I began removing the last traces of my celebrity mindset, my tattoos. This is the first step in my journey to live with a clean body. I plan to diligently remove them over the next three years.”

Song Baek-kyung expressed his determination for tattoo removal, saying, “I’m glad I can confidently tell Rubin and Luan that tattoos are absolutely not allowed, even though they say it looks cool and gangster. Despite feeling a bit sore after waking from anesthesia, this kind of thing is no problem for me.”

The photos released along with the statement show Song Baek-kyung after undergoing tattoo removal procedures. He is seen with bandages on his neck, shin, and left arm, hinting at the pain he might have experienced through the bandages wrapped around different parts of his body.

Recently appearing on KBS2’s ‘The Men Who Do Housework 2,’ Song Baek-kyung shared that he has taken on the role of a skewer shop owner. Even in front of the hot grill, he insisted on wearing long-sleeved clothes to cover his tattoos. He reflected on this decision, stating, “It’s a part of my past that I’d rather not show. Since becoming a father, I don’t want to display it anymore. Even when my kids ask about it, I don’t have much to say. I assumed I’d be a musician forever, thinking ‘I’m an artist,’ but you never know where life will take you.”

Song Baek-kyung’s mother has also expressed her dislike for his tattoos, feeling embarrassed for her son. Song Baek-kyung has announced that he plans to remove his tattoos.

Song Baek-kyung got married in 2016 and has two sons.

Here is Song Baek-kyung’s full statement:

“Today, I finally started erasing the last trace of my celebrity mindset—my tattoos.

This is the first step in my journey to live with a clean body.

I will work hard to remove them over the next three years.

Living the rest of my long life and playing my many roles as a dad, husband, and boss with tattoos isn’t suitable.

I am relieved to be able to confidently tell Rubin and Luan that tattoos are unacceptable.

Despite the soreness after waking from anesthesia, such things are no problem.

Cherish the clean body your parents have given you…”
