Shin Dong-yup comments on calls for Kim Jong-kook and Lee Sang-min to leave ‘My Ugly Duckling’: “It’s tough because people keep talking about marriage.”

Comedian Shin Dong-yup has shared his candid thoughts on the consecutive marriages of the cast members of SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling” (“Miwoosae”).

On the 10th, a video titled “MAX Office Drama with Kim Won-hoon, Car the Garden, Baek Hyun-jin_ Capturing the Wild Boss!!” was uploaded to the “Sad Brother Shin Dong-yup” channel.

In the video, Kim Won-hoon asked Shin Dong-yup, “If you had to choose one among SNL, Miwoosae, Animal Farm, and Sad Brother, which one would you pick?” Shin Dong-yup replied, “It would be ‘Sad Brother’ because I can do everything I love here. I drink, meet good people, eat delicious food, and share all my inner thoughts.”

When Kim Won-hoon pressed further by asking, “Then without Sad Brother, and you have to choose among Miwoosae, SNL, Animal Farm, and Immortal Songs, which would you choose?” Shin Dong-yup answered, “I can honestly say this: ‘Immortal Songs’ makes the singers work too hard. They do well, but it’s tough for them. And ‘Miwoosae’ is challenging because the cast members keep getting married,” adding, “But animals always do well. They’ve done great for 25 years,” expressing his fondness for “Animal Farm,” which he has been hosting for 25 years.

Meanwhile, cast members of “Miwoosae” such as Kim Jun-ho, Lee Sang-min, and Kim Jong-kook have recently married, joining the ranks of ‘sold out men.’ They continue to appear on the show, sharing personal stories about their newlywed lives and IVF treatments.

As “Miwoosae” is originally a variety show that observes the daily lives of unmarried men from the perspective of their mothers, some viewers have criticized that married cast members should leave the show, claiming the program’s identity has become blurred.
