Shin Ae-ra reveals the reason for adopting two daughters… “Tell them their biological mother is a remarkable person”

Shin Ae-ra, a celebrity who appeared on MBC’s “Radio Star,” shared her experience of adopting two daughters. She explained that she decided to adopt after her husband agreed, and within a week they initiated the adoption process. She reminisced about the time when they first welcomed their daughter, Yaeun, describing how the child, despite moving seven times before arriving at the Seoul orphanage, appeared to be lost and didn’t cry even with a wet diaper, likely having given up on seeking attention due to the lack of caregivers.

Shin expressed pride in her daughter, who has grown up to be a 20-year-old young woman. She recounted how, from the age of five, her daughter began asking questions about her biological mother, to whom Shin always responded positively, saying, “The mother who gave birth to you is truly a wonderful person, who carried you to term even though she couldn’t raise you.”

While Shin Ae-ra is open about her thoughts on adoption, her husband, Cha In-pyo, advised against detailing too much information to the children. He questioned why they needed to frequently discuss adoption. Shin, however, believes that adoption should be openly addressed, as it provides family and sibling bonds to children who might otherwise feel lonely.

Shin Ae-ra and Cha In-pyo, who were married in 1995, are parents to one son and two daughters. After giving birth to their first son in 1998, they adopted two daughters: Yaeun, born in 2005, and Yaejin, born in 2008. Recently, Shin Ae-ra shared the joyous news that her daughter Yaeun has been admitted to the prestigious University of California, Berkeley, receiving much congratulation from the public.
