Businessman Wang Xiaofei, the ex-husband of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, is set to get married. According to Taiwanese media outlet Mirror Media on the 24th (local time), Wang Xiaofei will tie the knot with his wife Mandy (Ma Xiaomei) in May. Wang Xiaofei revealed that he obtained a marriage certificate with Mandy on May 27 last year and remarried.
Although there were claims that the wedding might be postponed due to the sudden passing of his ex-wife, Barbie Hsu, it is expected to proceed as originally planned. The second wedding will take place at a hotel in Beijing, with family, relatives, and friends traveling from Taiwan to China to attend.
There is a high possibility that Wang Xiaofei’s two children will also be present, as he retains custody of the children, not Barbie Hsu’s husband Koo Jun-yup.
The wedding is described as more of an intimate family gathering, with Wang Xiaofei focusing more on health management in preparation for pregnancy rather than the wedding itself. His wife Mandy mentioned, “We will soon deliver good news to friends and family,” and both are reportedly in good health according to medical check-ups.
Barbie Hsu passed away suddenly last month on the 2nd while traveling in Japan, due to exacerbated influenza and pneumonia symptoms. She was 48 years old. Her funeral was held on the 15th amidst heavy rain. Koo Jun-yup personally carried her remains and bid her farewell. He appeared noticeably emaciated and with bloodshot eyes, evoking sympathy from onlookers.
Koo Jun-yup and Barbie Hsu dated for a year in the late 1990s before breaking up. Barbie Hsu then married Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2011. The couple had a son and a daughter together but eventually divorced in 2021.
Koo Jun-yup reconnected with Barbie Hsu 23 years later, leading to their fatefully reuniting and marrying in 2022. However, the public expressed their sympathy as Koo Jun-yup faced the loss of Barbie Hsu only four days before their 3rd wedding anniversary.
