“Rumored to be worth 60 billion, Lee Seo-jin is very meticulous with his money management: ‘I don’t turn on the lights to save money and prefer public transportation over driving’ (‘Whenever Possible’)”

In a recent broadcast, actor Lee Seo-jin showcased his exceptional frugality. On the October 29th episode of SBS’s “Whenever There’s a Chance,” Lee Seo-jin appeared as a guest. Yoo Jae-seok introduced him, saying, “He’s someone I like. He’s a bit grumpy but that’s okay. He’s normally a complainer in everyday life but works diligently.” He added humorously, “He’s a slightly more mature version of Cha Tae-hyun.”

Upon his arrival, Lee Seo-jin jokingly commented to Yoo Jae-seok and Yoo Yeon-seok about why they were sitting on the floor, suggesting they stand instead. Despite their surprise at his greeting, the atmosphere turned warm as Lee Seo-jin kindly wiped away a stain from Yoo Jae-seok’s mouth.

During their walk to meet participants for the show, Yoo Jae-seok asked Lee Seo-jin what he usually eats for breakfast. Lee Seo-jin revealed his strict self-management by saying he usually doesn’t eat breakfast, preferring just juice or yogurt. When questioned by Yoo Yeon-seok about cooking at home, Lee Seo-jin humorously replied that he never cooks for himself, highlighting his straightforward manner by saying, “It’s because I get paid to do it,” when asked about his cooking on the show “Youn’s Kitchen.”

Yoo Jae-seok admired his professional attitude, saying, “It’s really fitting for today’s times.” Lee Seo-jin shared that he frequently uses public transportation because it’s faster than driving, demonstrating his punctuality and showing a modest side of a top actor in Korea.

When asked by Yoo Yeon-seok if he has pets, Lee Seo-jin wittily answered no, saying it’s hard enough managing himself. Yoo Jae-seok agreed that having pets requires responsibility, while Yoo Yeon-seok proudly shared about his dog adoption three years ago.

Lastly, Lee Seo-jin spoke about enjoying quietness at home and being conscious about electricity usage, noting that he keeps only one light on to save energy. Reflecting on past questions about his family’s wealth, he mentioned having staff in his grandfather’s house but firmly denied having 60 billion won in cash, humorously justifying his participation in overseas shows.

Lee Seo-jin debuted in the 1999 SBS drama “House on Waves” and gained recognition through numerous dramas including “Damo,” “Phoenix,” and “Yi San.”
