‘Philopon Surrender’ Kim Na-jeong: “Businessman Mr. A tied my hands and blindfolded me to forcibly use drugs… No to Sponsorship”

[SC Issue] Freelance news anchor Kim Na-jung has stated her first position after being investigated by the police regarding drug charges.

According to Chosun.com on the 18th, Kim Na-jung traveled to the Philippines to promote beauty products and launch her underwear brand. There, she had drinks with a young entrepreneur known as Mr. A. However, Mr. A allegedly forced Kim Na-jung to take drugs.

Kim Na-jung’s side claimed, “In a somewhat intoxicated state, for unknown reasons, Mr. A tied her hands and blindfolded her. During that process, he made her inhale smoke, and when she tried to avoid it, he used a pipe-like object to forcefully make her inhale it.”

They also claimed to have video evidence. “Mr. A was concerned that if he recorded the video with his own phone, it could become problematic later. So, it appears he recorded it with Kim Na-jung’s phone and then transferred it via AirDrop or similar methods to keep the footage. This video can prove that Kim Na-jung was in an incapacitated state.”

Additionally, Kim Na-jung’s side mentioned that before forcing her to inhale the drugs, Mr. A showed a gun and insinuated that he could easily kill someone.

They stated, “While making a video call to the police for personal protection, someone who appeared to be associated with Mr. A recorded a video while talking with Mr. A and monitoring Kim Na-jung’s location. In order to urgently request help, Kim Na-jung confessed to the drug use,” adding, “Mr. A sent threatening messages, demanding to know details of the police investigation and threatening her life.”

The police have provided Kim Na-jung with a victim’s smartwatch. Although Kim Na-jung’s side has not yet provided the evidence, including the victim video, to the investigative authorities due to fear of reprisal from Mr. A, they intend to rectify this through the proper procedures later. They also dismissed any sponsorship rumors that have emerged as false.

On the 12th, Kim Na-jung posted a controversial message on her account stating, “I confess to taking drugs in the Philippines.” Upon reading this, netizens requested the police to investigate Kim Na-jung for violating the narcotics control law. Kim Na-jung was questioned by the Incheon International Airport Police shortly after returning from Manila, Philippines, on the 12th, for about two hours.

The police conducted a preliminary investigation to verify her statement and check the facts related to her SNS post. A preliminary drug test showed a positive reaction for methamphetamine.
