[Sports Chosun Reporter Baek Ji-eun] Park Yoochun, who was expelled from the Korean entertainment industry due to a drug case, will return as an actor.
On the 1st, Japanese media outlet Natalie reported that Park Yoochun will appear in the drama “A Greedy Woman and a Man with a Story,” which will be broadcast on Tokyo MX in December.
“A Greedy Woman and a Man with a Story” is a three-part romantic comedy about a man whose life is turned upside down after being accused of sexual harassment at work and is relegated to being a caretaker at a share house.
Park Yoochun’s return to drama comes approximately three months after the Tokyo MX drama “Momonouta,” which was aired in September.
Notably, this work is drawing attention as it features Taguchi Junnosuke, a former member of KAT-TUN, as the male protagonist. Taguchi Junnosuke was arrested in 2019 for possession and use of marijuana with his then girlfriend, Komine Lena, and was sentenced to six months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence. He later announced that he would cease entertainment activities as penance but was seen at a host bar, leading to further controversy. “A Greedy Woman and a Man with a Story” marks Taguchi Junnosuke’s return to terrestrial television after 11 years, which is expected to generate significant interest.
In April 2019, Park Yoochun was arrested and charged with purchasing and using methamphetamine with his then-girlfriend Hwang Ha-na and received a ten-month prison sentence with a two-year suspended sentence. When Hwang Ha-na first exposed his drug charges, he held a tearful press conference claiming, “I have never used drugs, staking my entertainment career on it,” but eventually admitted to the drug use. Consequently, Park Yoochun was expelled from the domestic entertainment industry. However, he later reversed his retirement declaration and restarted his activities primarily in foreign countries such as Thailand and Japan.
